Is there a place in Portland that has exhibits related to Jewish History
There is an Oregon Jewish Museum that is currently the only museum that strives to preserve unique Jewish history related to the Northwest region. Founded in 1989, this museum laid the groundwork more than a decade before its official inception.
This museum has exclusively exhibits about Jewish Art and Culture specific to the region. With the acquisition of the archives for the Jewish Historical Society in 1996, this museum currently has the largest collection of documented history in terms of text, images and artifacts pertinent to the Oregon Jews.
Recognized as a part of the cultural landscape of Portland City representing a distinct identity of a minority community, the Oregon Jewish Museum is open to researchers, scholars and students alike who wish to explore more Portland History in a Jewish perspective.
