US Route 30 serves one of useful highways for the city of Portland. While in the west of the city, the US Route 30 follows the path along the southern shore of the Columbian river, the route in the east of the city has been replaced by the Interstate 84.

In northwest part of the city, the US Route 30 passes between the Forest Park and the Willamette River. One part is US Route 30 Bypass passes through the St. John's Bridge in the east.

Other parts covered by the route include St. Helens Road, a part of the industrial area, Downtown Portland and finally, the Fremont Bridge.
