What are the City of Portland Bicycle Master Plans
The City of Portland Bicycle Master Plan is a program started by the city residents to make Portland a bicycle-friendly city. Adopted first in the year 1996, the plan became a great success with each passing year.
Today, the bicycling network in the city has doubled and it is expected to grow more with time. In the year 2008, Portland was awarded with the platinum status of being a bicycle friendly community.

With such great efforts, bicycling has become a fun activity, not only among the local residents, but also among the tourists visiting the city. The 1996 plan is currently under an update as The Portland Bicycle Plan for 2030.
