The pale paint of green blends the bridge to the beautiful landscape surrounding it. According to some urban legend which can be heard from the locals, the St. John's Bridge was designed by Joseph Strauss, the San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge's designer. In contrary to that, David Steinman and Holton Robinson were the designers which took the plane fly over and under the bridge when it was finished for inspection.
The bridge is really huge that other bridges in Portland will be too small if compared with it. Unfortunately, the bridge is not visible from the city; the people who wish to see it would really have to go to the place.
Many of the Portland hotels built earlier in the centuries have been the place where the engineers and architects of the bridge stayed. And until now, those hotels still pays tribute to the bridge by simply scheduling a tour for their guests to see the St. John's Bridge without the discomfort of traveling because they their own shuttle vans, cars and buses.
St. John's Bridge which was finished in 1931 has stood all the trials of natural calamities and still standing today. Therefore, it is quite a good time to see and visit the most beautiful bridge in Portland.
