Children's Museum

The Portland Children's museum is located in the hilly Washington Park, which is adjacent to the Oregon Zoo. The attractions and exhibits available in the museum are targeted for children from 0-10 years of age and on an average, around 50,000 people visit this museum in a year. A renowned Portland travel guide will tell you that Portland Children's Museum is the 6th oldest museum for children in the US.

The studios and exhibits of the museum allow your children's imagination to go to its limits and some of the studios there are Baby's Garden, Vroom Room, the Garage, the Clay Studio and Wonder Corner.

Weekly summer camps are also held in the museum for which the children are required to register themselves beforehand.

Classes such as Garage Junior, Paint and Play and Smoosh and Squish are also conducted from time to time and Open Studios may include Sensory Kitchen and Clay Glazing. Field Trips can also be conducted upon special request for groups of children like school groups.

If you become a member of the Portland Children's Museum, you will be allowed to visit the museum for any number of times in a year. Apart from that, 6 Quick Pick post cards will be delivered the your mail box, you will have the right to free parking in the Washington Park, you will receive latest updates through e-newsletters twice a month and you will receive special discounts on workshops, special events and camps.

Portland Children's Museum runs an Opal Charter School which is an elementary school having different approach to teaching and learning things.

If you want to celebrate your birthday in a unique and special way, then you can book the private birthday room of the museum for 90 minutes. 15 children will be allowed to join the party and more can also come at a nominal extra cost.
