Pittock Mansion

Opposite to one part of the beautiful Portland city where Mount Hood smiles over the surrounding valleys, there lays another eye catching monument 300 meters above sea level, resting on the West Hills of the city known as the Pittock Mansion. It is indeed one of the most astounding pieces of human's work. The Pittock Mansion Portland has a far stretching history to the early 20th century.

The Pittock Mansion was once the only and most prestigious properties among the city which was established by Henry Pittock. Henry Pittock himself those days was one of the leading publishers in the whole of Oregon but his house alone stands more to elaborate.

The family had the mansion as it's only abode till 1958 when they bread earners become helpless and tried to sell out the space. The local district government with the help of several local residents was able to raise a huge amount to purchase the monument and add it to the city's cultural heritage.

There is a lot more to the mansion than just its exquisite owners and the view around the area. It is known to be one of the perfect spots for bird watching and is one of the famous tourist attractions around the area. The mansion is full of artifacts and enigmatic architectural designs. All the three floors of the mansion are known to provide much attraction to interior designers especially as one may find exasperating designs of bronze made patterns of leaves and orchid for the ceiling. Marble, teak wood, ornate doors and huge spacious rooms can be seen all around the area.

This place is a must visit, place especially inn December. December rings a bell for the arrival of Christmas and by that time even the mansion is well lit up and perfected with its ornaments inch by inch.
