A lot of attention is given to the First Thursday of every month, the day on which wine shops and art galleries remain open for extra hours so that around 15,000-20,000 fans can be welcomed. Even the Pearl District is laden with swanky eateries, hip shops and exclusive wine bars; it is a place that has a very casual atmosphere of its own kind.

As far as its location is concerned, it has been nestled between Willamette River and West Hills.

If you are a running, walking or biking lover, then you can choose to head towards the Forest Park or towards the Willamette River Esplanade. Forest Park is one of the largest Parks in North America while Esplanade is a trail system which allows you to run upon the river. Both of these places are located just some blocks away from the Pearl District, Portland.

The cultural district and Portland's theater are only a 4 minute ride from the Pearl District through Portland Streetcar.
