That is to say, it is unnecessary for you to get any tickets or make an appointment before your visit. But do remember to arrive as early as possible since they might be filled to capacity really soon.

As for upcoming Science Pubs in Portland, there would be two locations for visitors to choose from. If you happen to live in the neighborhood of SE Hawthorne Boulevard, then the Bagdad Theatre & Pub located at 3702 Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard would be a good bet for you. Otherwise, you can get to the Mission Theatre & Pub at 1624 Northwest Glisan Street, Portland.
Note that: Portland Science Pubs would only be available for visitors aged 21 or older. The minor will also be welcomed on condition that they are accompanied by adults. Science Pubs are scheduled to begin at 7 pm, but theatres would open as early as 5 pm. There is no admission fee. However, a $3 donation is suggested.

1) Mega Quake: What Lies in Wait for the Pacific Northwest and What You Can Do About It: This Portland Science Pub would take place at the Bagdad Theatre on Wednesday, April 13, 2011. It is all about how to prepare and deal with natural disasters like the devastating earthquake that hit Japan recently. A number of renowned scientists and engineers would join this talk as well.
2) Birds and Bridges: Bringing Portland's Peregrines Back from the Brink: It is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Visitors can take part in this conversation at the Mission Theatre. This talk would be directed by Bob Sallinger - the conversation director for the Portland Audubon Society. Guys would get together on that evening to talk about the most widespread bird of prey - peregrine falcons.
3) The Mystique of Terrior: Geology, Soils, Climate and Wines in the Northern Willamette Valley: On Monday, May 2, 2011, there would be a gathering at the Bagdad Theatre. More amazingly, Scott Burns, PHD - a renowned professor would be there waiting for you. The talk is mainly about the connection between nature and human beings. Various environment problems would be discussed. However, the most important part would be exploring the mystery of the terrior in the northern Willamette Valley.
4) Not Quite Adults: It is an amusing discussion about the development of young people. Today, young people are growing up too fast and tend to step into adulthood much earlier than the older generation did. Most people, especially parents, quite worry about this. The PHD, Rick Settersten would participate in this discussion, share his ideas and give parents a few helpful suggestions.
5) Seeing Things in a New Light: Infrared Imaging: Pan to visit the Bagdad Theatre on Monday, June 6, 2011? You might be able to catch up with this Science Pub which begins at 7 pm. John Lester Miller would be there furnishing all the visitors with a vivid presentation. He would take you to the world of infrared and tell the story about infrared Imaging. Various start-of-the-art equipments and other materials would be offered for you to get a deep understanding of the development of infrared imaging.
