As years passed by, the facility grew into a typical entertaining venue featuring rodeo events and trade activities with livestock, cattle grading and auctions. The international convention center mainly was used for large-scale trade of local businesses, as corporate companies use it for marketing today.

The move was a security strategy by President Roosevelt, who was trying to eliminate all forms threat from enemy country Japan after the Pearl Harbor bombing during the war.

Known as the Portland Assembly Center since its earliest days, the facility served much of the services one would imagine in a local townhouse where private enterprises made the ruling. The venue serves as one of the most frequently hired event spaces in Portland OR, making room for restaurant services, garden enthusiasts, talent and trick show masters, charity operations, god shows, collectible item sales and much more than just an Assembly Center.
