Situated on the east bank of the Willamette River, center of this beautiful city, the Oregon Convention Center is right around the corner from a number of the best dining, shopping and entertainment destinations of Portland. However, if you are going to drive to the OCC, a wealth of information on parking would be necessary since parking spaces in this area are quite in demand.
For visitor's convenience, a two-level underground parking garage is provided by the Portland Convention Center. This secured and sanitary parking garage furnishes about 800 parking spaces for various vehicles. Visitors can get into this underground parking garage through its entrances placed on both Lloyd Boulevard and First Avenue.
Maximum daily parking rate in this parking garage is only 9 dollars. Remember that, the clearance of P1 level is 7 feet while P2 level requires a clearance of 9 feet. And overnight parking is unavailable. This garage does offer a couple of motorcycle-only parking spaces, but motorcycles would be charged the same parking fee as any vehicles. Actually, 800 parking spaces are far from enough for driving visitors to park their vehicles, especially when there is a special event taking place at the Oregon Convention Center. If you are just driving to the OCC for a business conference or international fair, chances are you will arrive at the underground parking garage and find that it has been filled to capacity already. Don't worry! There are ample street parking options available for you.
In total, the Oregon Convention Center has nearly 2,500 street parking spaces in the vicinity. They would be perfect for weeknight or weekend parking. The Lloyd Parking lot erected on the south side of NE Lloyd Boulevard offers 80 parking spaces for you to choose from. And the OCC Exhibitor's Lot which you can find right on the west side of the convention center features 160 parking spaces.
The Metro Garage between NE Irving Street and NE Lloyd Boulevard has up to 485 parking spaces, while the Liberty Centre next to the intersection of NE Oregon Street and NE Sixth Avenue boasts 575 spaces. If you happen to drive from NE Martin Luther King Boulevard, NE Irving Street or NE Hoyt Street, then the Hoyt Lot bordered with these roads would be your best choice. For those who are driving from the North, the formerly Ambridge Events Center on the north of the convention center is definitely a good bet.
Apart from what mentioned above, 416 metered parking spaces are offered as well, within walking distance of the Oregon Convention Center. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that these parking spaces might be unavailable sometimes, since they open depending on demand.
