The University of Portland is Roman Catholic University of Oregon established in 1981. This private university of Portland is famous for women's soccer and it is 9th ranked university in the west. It is the only university in Oregon which offers five divisions of study at a single location.

College of Arts and Sciences is the core of the university which has seventeen departments like biology, chemistry, English social work, sociology etc. Many departments offer graduate studies along with undergraduate majors.

Pamplin School of Business offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees. This school is accredited by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The undergraduate courses are offered in Economics and BBA in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing and Management etc. At graduate level the school offers MS in finance, MBA.

School of Education provides undergraduate and graduate programs with a teaching license valid in most of the states of US. This program is known for its field experience, and classroom placements. PACE program allows teachers to earn MA in teaching or Master of Education while attending summer school.
